Bragging Rights

The Lucky Dip Escapade
From: Göteborg, Västra Götalands län, Sweden

The Lucky Dip Escapade is the nom de plume of Oliver Smith a UK emigre to Sweden from where he churns out acoustic gems like Camp Fire Song which has to be the best Billy Bragg song that Billy didn't write.

It's Anger Time

Ste McCabe
From: Manchester,
United Kingdom

Stella Zine
From:United States

Long time readers of the Devil's blog will know that I have a real soft spot for Manchester based electro-punk-queer-pop machine Ste McCabe. Well he's back with a new EP, 'Harrowing Breakdown' that sounds like an anarchist Billy Bragg on crack, and a full tour of this green and peasant land. Accompanying Ste on his crusade around the UK will be the possessor of one of the loudest punk rock wails in the world, Stella Zine. Stella was one of the first generation of riot grrrls who terrified the right-wingers of Atlanta USA in the 90's with her band Pagan Holiday and she's travelled across the Atlantic to put the fear of god into Cameron and his cronies.

Wandering Minstrel

Pagan Wanderer Lu
From: Cardiff/Bolton, United Kingdom

Pagan Wanderer Lu is Andy Regan (born in Bolton) a one-man 'Indietronica' band originally formed in Aberystwyth but now based in Cardiff.

As Pagan Wanderer Lu Andy, who also passes his time playing bass in Silence At Sea, has self released countless albums and EPs of world weary, witty ditties. He is a uniquely British, razor sharp commentator on the foibles and irritations of British life. Part of a tradition that stretches back as far as the wandering minstrels of medieval times through to the more recent likes of performance poet John Cooper Clarke, socialist rock agitator Billy Bragg, absurdist commentariats like Half Man Half Biscuit, and the witty observational pop of Jarvis Cocker.
