People Is Ready For A Change, And That Change Started Today... Barack Obama Is The New President Of United States Of America, Which Make Him The First Black President In The History Of The U.S.!

Fitchburg and Leominster MA Events News.- I'm glad Barack Obama won the elections (2008), we need something different, someone with a different approach to things, because what the last president did clearly didn't work for any of us. The government spent trillion of dollars in fixing another country's administration system, but forgot completely to budget and use some of that cash to keep this country on a successful path.

Many people knew that McCain was just a Bush with a different name and face, thank God he didn't win, I think most of the people that voted for him was from the wealthy class, I said this because Obama is planning of making them pay more taxes than the poor, Robin Hood style, take from the rich not from the poor.... I think that is a very smart approach in economy down times, why taking more money from those that don't have it?

Now we need to give a big brake to Barack Obama before start seeing any changes, we have to remember that he taking charge of a country with an economy crisis (recession), two wars that still need to be deal with, a crashing stock market, high rates of unemployment, a global bad reputation, slow new energy improvements, and global warming issues. Is no way we are going to see fast changes, but I hope he and his team are smart enough come out with a reliable solutions to current recession problems, because if this is fix the other problems can deal easier.

Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama smashed through racial barriers and easily defeated Republican John McCain to become the first African-American destined to sit in the Oval Office, America's 44th president. He was the first Democrat to receive more than 50 percent of the popular vote since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

"It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment, change has come to America," Obama told a victory rally of 125,000 people jammed into Chicago's Grant Park.

Obama scored an Electoral College landslide that redrew America's political map. He won states that reliably voted Republican in presidential elections, like Indiana and Virginia, which hadn't supported the Democratic candidate in 44 years. Ohio and Florida, key to Bush's twin victories, also went for Obama, as did Pennsylvania, which McCain had deemed crucial for his election hopes.

With just 76 days until the inauguration, Obama is expected to move quickly to begin assembling a White House staff and selecting Cabinet nominees.

Campaign officials said Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel was the front-runner to be Obama's chief of staff. The advisers spoke on a condition of anonymity because the announcement had not yet been made.

Obama's victory was sweetened by Democratic gains in both houses of Congress. In the Senate, Democrats ousted Republicans Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina and John Sununu of New Hampshire and captured seats held by retiring GOP senators in Virginia, New Mexico and Colorado. Democrats scored big gains in the House, as well.

When Obama and running mate Joe Biden take their oath of office on Jan. 20, Democrats will control both the White House and Congress for the first time since 1994.

"It is not a mandate for a party or ideology but a mandate for change," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said: "Tonight the American people have called for a new direction. They have called for change in America."

After the longest and costliest campaign in U.S. history, Obama was propelled to victory by voters dismayed by eight years of George W. Bush's presidency and deeply anxious about rising unemployment and home foreclosures and a battered stock market that has erased trillions of dollars of savings for Americans.

Six in 10 voters picked the economy as the most important issue facing the nation in an Associated Press exit poll. None of the other top issues — energy, Iraq, terrorism and health care — was selected by more than one in 10. Obama has promised to cut taxes for most Americans, get the United States out of Iraq and expand health care, including mandatory coverage for children.

Obama acknowledged that repairing the economy and dealing with problems at home and overseas will not happen quickly. "We may not get there in one year or even in one term," he said. "But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a people will get there.""

Don't Look If You Want To Eat

What kind of food is safe in your point of view?
a) Homemade
b) Outside food?

Well, I'm sure most of your answer will be homemade. Right? I always believe that homemade food is cleaner, safer and more hygienic than hawker or fast food. The reason is, most of the food is not washed properly. I had came across with a hawker stall which sells 'popiah' (Chinese salad roll?). I heard it was the best 'popiah' in town. When I was queuing and waiting for my turn to by the rolls, to my horror, I saw something I shouldn't.

One of the staff took a plastic bag, containing carrot and vegetables went to a corner and washed them. I thought they are practicing good hygienic manner since they will wash the raw food. However, my positive view has turned into a negative one when the girl was sharing the same pail of water which was used to clean the dirty, oily plates at the first place. There were bubbles on the water as well.

OMG!
What's the point of washing the vegetables with polluted water? It is even worse when the food is contaminated with chemical... (Ohh.. the bubbles... yuck!)
What did I do next? Escape from the long queue and get home instead. Lol..

It's hard to get clean-100% free of germs-food. Not even at home. Still remember my previous post on Hometown, I love My Hometown. If you did, I believe you still remember the chili plants, right?

They were all planted by my grandma and they are all free from dangerous chemical. I shall say, they're all pure and organic food! Thumbs up.



But...
As I've told you earlier, nothing is safe in this world even if you plant your food and cook them by your own.




Have you spotted the fly's eggs?
They are really tiny and if you're not sensitive enough, you might just end up eating it. WUuoooo.... I couldn't imagine it what happen next.


Moral:
1) Be careful with what you eat.
2) Don't look at the process of making any food (especially in hawker center). You will end up dying of hunger.. sad.. :(

Fitchburg MA and Leominster MA Daily News.- Another toothpaste recall report released on June 1st, 2007, is another excellent article you should read, because looks like the toothpaste that came from China has really poisonous chemicals that can harm any ones life...

China imported this harmful toothpaste to several countries including U.S. and Panama... This looks like some kind of attack some web users said at online groups or forums. But, the FDA already stop all toothpaste imports that comes from China. The recall base on their imports has put many countries on state of alarm, and they think that stopping all toothpaste from this country will help protect our people, and it will not be open until all investigations are complete.

"FDA is not aware of any U.S. reports of poisonings from toothpaste containing DEG. However, the agency is concerned about potential risks from chronic exposure to DEG and exposure to DEG in certain populations, such as children and individuals with kidney or liver disease. DEG in toothpaste has a low but meaningful risk of toxicity and injury to these populations. Toothpaste is not intended to be swallowed, but FDA is concerned about unintentional swallowing or ingestion of toothpaste containing DEG.

FDA has identified the following brands of toothpaste from China that contain DEG and are included in the import alert: Cooldent Fluoride; Cooldent Spearmint; Cooldent ICE; Dr. Cool, Everfresh Toothpaste; Superdent Toothpaste; Clean Rite Toothpaste; Oralmax Extreme; Oral Bright Fresh Spearmint Flavor; Bright Max Peppermint Flavor; ShiR Fresh Mint Fluoride Paste; DentaPro; DentaKleen; and DentaKleen Junior. What all this is going to do? Race the crime level on all local Massachusetts cities. Some people are going to do anything to survive....

Fitchburg MA and Leominster MA Daily News.- Trying to be alert during the day 19 years old James Stone took over 25 caffeine pills. Parents said "he told us he had to go to the bathroom", moments after his father found James laying on the bathroom floor.

James when into cardiac arrest, because he took a larger amount of the one recommended by package. Expert said the amount that he took can be compare to drinking 30 cups of coffee which turn into a deadly weapon for his body.

James father wanted to let everyone know it can kill you is you over do it. Authorities are seeing this case as an accidental overdose. But, the pills it should have a warning label advising users of the danger behind the over use of this drug.

Drug intoxication and drug overdose may be accidental or intentional. Drug withdrawal symptoms can occur when use of a substance is stopped.
