After Liverpool stole, well as much as you can steal something and leave £35m in the back of the victim, Andy Carroll from Newcastle earlier this week it's the least I can do to feature a band from the side of the Tyne. Small recompense for the Geordies but it's the least I can do.
The Longsands could well be the musical equivalent of Andy Carroll. With tracks like Bully a brilliant anti bullying Britpop anthem that should be on the curriculum at all British secondary schools, then it won't be long before they are the subject of a bid so large that they are persuaded to leave their beloved city and ply their trade elsewhere. Any band who The Jam's Bruce Foxton calls (and I quote) " the best support band we have had" are sure to have the A&R men and women knocking on their doors with chequebook and pens in hand.
