As an appetiser before the Devil finally unveils his favourite tracks of the year today's post provides an insight into those tracks that were most loved by visitors to The Devil's Hype Machine site in 2010.
Like last year the top 20 was spread fairly evenly throughout the year with only February (that's two years in a row!) and July not having a track included in the top 20. The favourite tracks this year were a lot less cosmopolitan than last year with only five countries represented and 80% of the tracks by bands based in either the UK or the US.
Last year no artist or band featured in the list of Hype Machine most loved tracks more than once. This year however no less than three bands/artists featured more than once and The Good Natured managed to appear three times! The only band that managed to appear on both last year and this year's list was Grizzly Bear and once with the same song 'Cheerleader!
The most noticeable change between last year and this year's lists is the increase in the number of remixes. Just two remixes made it as most loved tracks in 2010. In 2011 this has increased to eight an amazing 40% of tracks. 2010 was truly the year of the remix.
