Good Natured Banter

The Good NaturedThe Good Natured
From: United Kingdom

It's interview week on the Devil's blog. After yesterdays insight into the inner thoughts of Deathline Sarah McIntosh aka The Good Natured has taken some time out from mapping out her route to rule the pop world to tell the Devil about her evil side, her love of Irish poppets B*Witched and the importance of the noble bee...

The Devil: Why The Good Natured? What other names did you ponder before deciding it had to be The Good Natured?

S
arah: I wrote it in some lyrics once and I knew it was the one for me. I am a pretty decisive person. I don't mess about.

The Devil: Are you really Good Natured or is there an evil side to you?

Sarah: When I was younger I was at my most evil. I made my best friend drink vinegar and soy sauce as a dare. I think I have become more good natured with age.

T
he Devil: What's the most evil thing you've done and were you caught?

Sarah: Apart from the soy sauce incident, I once stole some pic and mix from Woolworths. Sweet. Literally.

The Devil: Tell me something that
The Good Naturedyou've never told anyone before.

S
arah: No. That's a bit cheeky isn't it ?(well I Am The Devil ). We've only just met. Buy me a drink first.

T
he Devil: Who are the biggest influences in your life and on your music?

S
arah: My nearest and dearest. Musical influences I would say mainly come from my parents record collection like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Tears for Fears etc but I love Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire...Nick Drake...Fever Ray...loads of stuff I can't list it all!

T
he Devil: What was the first record you owned and what was the first record you ever bought with your own money?

Sarah: I was absolutely obsessed with B*witched, so I think it was Rollercoaster - classic.

T
he Devil: What makes The Good Natured stand out from the millions of other bands across the world? What makes you unique?

S
arah: I like to think that my music is slightly darker yet still pop which I don't think anyThe Good Naturedone else is doing...but I will let you be the judge of that.

T
he Devil: Which bands or artists on the current music scene make your spine tingle?

Sarah: La Shark. Have you seen that guy? Amazing.

The Devil: Favourite song?

S
arah: Well it depends on my mood. If I want a good cry then Sufjan Stevens' John Wayne Gacy Jr. I love Black Tongue by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

T
he Devil: Favourite book?

S
arah: I don't read really.

The Devil: Favourite Movie
?

Sarah: Fish Tank.

The Devil: Favourite website?

Sarah: www.myspace.com/thegoodnatured (I love a shameless plug)

The Devil: If you weren't in The Good Natured how would you keep yourself occupied?

Sarah: Bee-keeping. It's important. People don't realise the import
ance of the noble bee.

The Devil: If you were interviewing yourself what would your killer question be and how would you answer it?

Sarah: This one. How post modern of me. I would answer it in the same way, and we would continue in ever diminishing circles...

The Devil: Is there anything else you'd like to tell the Devil Has The Best Tuna readers?

Sarah: Yes! We are really excited about our new single Be My Animal comes out on November the 1st on KIDS. It can be pre-ordered from KIDS or from Rough Trade now!
