There is a certain symmetry to this weeks blog. Monday's post on Stray Dogs referenced Manchester band StrayDogCafe. Tuesday's post on StrayDogCafe referenced King Of The Slums and today's post is on, yes you've guessed it King Of The Slums. I'm not sure I can keep this up for much longer!
Way back in the late 80s I was blown away by King Of The Slums's 'Simpering Blonde Bombshell' and was therefore pleased to see that they were back recording and releasing albums after 18 years of silence. Their latest album 'The Orphaned Files' was released last year through their official website. Thankfully the passage of time has not dimmed the KotS flame. They are as obtuse, as angry, as savage and as far from the mainstream as ever. They remain peerless poets of the underground chronicling the real world, a world that is rarely seen.
Has it been worth the wait. Abso bloody lutely.
