Floridian garage punkers Lil Daggers (much better than their first choice name Lil Dicks) have recently released the 'King Corpse' ep, a brilliant fuzzed up little 7 incher that's got the ol' Devil's juices flowing. With it's thumping drums, screaming vocals and relentless organ 'King Corpse', the EP's title track, sounds like four horsemen of the apocalypse coming over the horizon. It could be the last thing you hear as the world goes to hell in a handcart. If so then at least we'll all die happy.
The Devil's favourite track 'Hungry' sounds like a fuzzed up echo from underneath the floorboards of CBGBs, like Richard Hell & The Voidoids with a rocket up their arse. You can almost hear the sweat dripping from the ceiling. “Ya Tu Sabes” mines an even deeper seam sounding like an original artyfact from the first Psychedelic era.
Lil Daggers are well worth a stab.
