North East tri0 B-Lock & The Girl are a freshly minted trio with a set of old school Peelesque tunes thrown in from left field. They've only been on myspace since April, have had less than 1,000 profile views and I can only find one previous mention on the blogosphere. They couldn't be more fresh if they'd just been picked from the indie pod.The three songs on their myspace site are short, sharp, wiry, angular missives crammed with more ideas than a boffin on an LSD trip. On 'Tired Of The Sick Hype' they sound like they've injected themselves with the purest essence of the Vichy Government while 'Dogs Have Paws' is all right angles and Wire infused art pop. Final track 'Unos Muchachos' sounds like at least three different songs and still comes in at under two minutes.
If John Peel were alive he'd be all over B-Lock & The Girl like a rash.
